LV827 WEMBACH 2004
home

The aircraft came down on the edge of woodland on the outskirts to the village of Wembach, south-east of Darmstadt.

When we arrived in Wembach in April 2004 we were introduced to a gentleman who had seen the crash site on the morning of 19th March 1944, he accompanied us to the woodland and indicated where the plane had come down, represented by the red asterix shown in the photographs.

Our guide and pilot Armin Probst also give me the opportunity to look at the site from the air. My understanding of the crash site would indicate that the plane came down from the lower right hand side of the picture travelling towards the top left corner.
