Gordon Edgar Doggett was born on the 9th January 1923 in Beerburrum, Queensland, Australia. He was the son of George Henry and Gertrude Doggett. Gordon enlisted on 9th November 1941 at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He received his initial Air Force training in Australia before arriving in Canada on 3rd October 1942 where he completed his Navigators course. Gordon departed Halifax, Canada on the 29th December 1942 for the U.K. arriving on the 8th January 1943. He joined 27 O.T.U. on 22nd June 1943 and then 1652 Heavy Conversion Unit on 20th October 1943 before joining 466 squadron on the 3rd February 1944 at RAF Leconfield.

| Gordon was married on the 8th February 1944 at St Augustine's Church in Halifax to Eva 'Roberts' the sister to Cyril Roberts the wireless operator. | |||
Gordon had died in the crash on the 18th March 1944 at Wembach at the age of 21. Gordon was initially buried in Wembach Civil Cemetery, before being re-buried by the allied forces to a dedicated war cemetery in early December 1947. Gordon is now buried in Durnbach War Cemetery, Germany in area 7, row H, grave 7. Gordon is mentioned on a memorial for past pupils killed during WW2 at the Toogoolawah State Rural School in Australia. |
