Details :- HE530 was attacked by a night fighter flown by Oblt Lothar Linke NJG1, with the starboard engine damaged and lost, fire in the bomb bay and in the rear of the aircraft, the controls were also jammed so the order to bale out was given. HE530 crashed at 00:58 10km East South East of Meppel, Holland. Sgt Latham's body being found near the wreckage.
     
Sgt Latham lies in De Wijk General Cemetery.
     
Sgt James - PoW number is 1140 after evading capture until 9th May 1943, he was in camps L1/L6/L4/357.
Sgt Dolby - PoW number is 1125 after evading capture until 9th May 1943, he was in camps L1/L6/L4.
Sgt Lutton - PoW number is 1146, he was in camps L1/L6/L4.
Sgt Baxter - PoW number is 1117, he was in camps L1/L6/L4.
