| Details:- HF569 was shot down by a night-fighter flown by Oblt Paul Zorner of I/NJG3 flying a Bf110 E at 01:09, 2km East of Neerhespen. | ||||||
| 653 aircraft detailed to attack, 8 out of the 89 Wellington's involved were lost. | ||||||
| All of the crew were buried in Sint Truiden before being re-buried in Haverlee War Cemetery after the war. | ||||||
| Had they completed this mission safely then P/O Edmonds would have completed his 30th and last sortie of his tour of duty. | ||||||
