| The Handley Page Halifax lll was powered by 4 Bristol Hercules XVl double row 14 cylinder sleeve valve radial engines, each producing 1615hp. These would enable it to have a maximum speed of 282mph (454 kmh) and a maximum range of 1,260 miles. The Halifax lll had a fuel load of 1,998 gallons and upto another 690 gallons could be used in additional tanks placed inside the aircraft. They could also carry a maximum bomb load of 13,000 lbs. |
