Details :- LW116 was hit by flak at 16,000ft catching the Port Inner engine alight and then the wing, LW116 crashed 5km East of Frevent, Pas de Calais, France at 15:00.

S/L J F McMullan had already completed 15 Operations with Wellington aircraft as well as having completed 13 Operations with the Halifax, Siracourt being his 29th Operation.
